our latest webinar Reid Meloy, PhD, will lead an expert walkthrough of the Terrorist Radicalization Assessment Protocol-18™ (TRAP-18) and the empirical research supporting its reliability and validity. The TRAP-18 is a structured professional judgment (SPJ) instrument developed by Dr. Meloy to assess the risk of targeted violence posed by lone actors, extremists, and other individuals of concern. Dr. Meloy will review warning behaviors and emphasize indicators that are most associated with imminent risk.
Whether you are part of a threat assessment team, or a security or mental health expert, this session provides a valuable foundation for understanding TRAP-18 and its application.
Learning objectives:
- Determine the appropriate context and scenario for using the TRAP-18.
- Discuss the imminent risk indicators.
- Identify the difference between proximal warning behaviors and distal characteristics.
- Describe at least one empirical study demonstrating the validity of the TRAP-18.
